AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR LISTENERS
| The JND.MP3 Player (via podomatic.com) |
Unfortunately, thanks to some unexpected drama, namely Daniel's departure from the show (which came completely out of nowhere) and a hard drive clean that wiped out just about all the web content we had, we've now had to redo everything from scratch. That means new logos, new skits, and of course, a new website design.
Don't worry, we're not going away; as many downloads as we've been getting, it's safe to say we're sticking around for a while. In fact, we're only using this placer until the JND.MP3 website is redone. Now that we have access to other technologies, we're currently working on getting a site set up that will allow a lot of different things.
For example, right now we have our own social network, the JND.MP3 Outsiders! It's free to join, you get a few more features than Myspace, and it allows you, our fans, to exhert some influence over the show. Once the website gets rebuilt, expect the social network to somehow be integrated, plus a wiki to keep you guys updated on the hosts, more products on the new webstore, and some video segments that...well, that's more of a hush-hush kind of deal right now.
In the meantime, you can listen to the newest episodes starting July 6th on the player on this page and even download those from the feed to put on a data disc or an MP3 player. A similar player will be put on the Outsiders network shortly. Hell, you can distribute the shows for all we care! JND.MP3's parent company, Cornett Media LLC, has made the show free to distribute under the Creative Commons license specified below. We're also working on getting a torrent up with the first two years of JND.MP3, so look for that in the coming weeks.
The kinds of segments we're planning for as far as Season Four goes are nothing short of incredible, and definitely a direction we wouldn't have been able to go previously. To give you an idea, the following is an incomplete list of the things we're planning:
"From the Turnbuckle" - James and longtime contributor Ryan McGhee talk wrestling, both onscreen and off. Listen for commentaries on WWE, TNA, and independent promotions.
"Ask JMC" - Back when Daniel was still doing his "Ask-A-Vampire" series, James' answers to the same letters seemed to get better reactions from the audience. Now, in a "Dear 2" style segment, you get to ask questions to the Resident Jackass himself! Funny or serious, he'll answer the letters!
Audio Interviews - Yes, we now have the capacity to do phone interviews! We've already got one prospect interested and are looking for more ideas. The types of people we're wanting to interview include but are not limited to: musicians, authors, comedians, wrestlers, game developers, people making a change, and anyone we think would deserve exposure for what they're doing.
By now you're probably asking, "Well, how can we participate?" Good question! "Ask JMC" letters, interview requests, topic ideas, or feedback can all be sent (with the appropriate subject headings, of course) to podcast@jndmp3.com. Anyone interested in sponsoring the program can also email us at that address.
As always, thanks for listening and being patient with us!
